GEOBIT SEEDLINK DIGITIZER

GEO3tiny Low Power Digitizer/Recorder

GEO3tiny is a compact miniature seismic digitizer which integrates three seismic and three acceleration channels plus three extra analog channels for seismometer mass monitoring. It supports high resolution 24bit digitizer, embedded linux OS and GPS or NTP timing. Seedlink and Earthworm server ensures reliable real time data telemetry while large storage volume ensures long period local data recording. The instrument has extremely low power consumption so it can operate getting powered from a small 12Vdc battery. Due to its small size provides the ability to be buried underground. The analog input supports differential architecture and variable gain set, user configurable. Three extra analog channels can monitor seismometer’s mass position and three control lines can be used for seismometer Lock, Unlock and Centering. The digitizer can be connected to any kind of active or passive seismometer. It operates in continuous mode, triggered mode or both and data are streamed through different data ports. Local data storage is selectable as well as logfile in- formation. The unit supports advanced functionality, implemented from the combination of trusted open source soft- ware components. Because of its open-source architecture is able to run any custom application thus providing the next day solution to the user. The hardware is based over an embedded ARM9 400MHz ARM linux board running 14.6 linux kernel. The data are stored in mini-SEED format into the microSD card or to a removable USB stick. The instrument supports 10/100 ethernet port and debug port. FTP, SFTP, SSH are also available. The state of health is transmitted over UDP packets upon request.

GEOsix Low Power Digitizer/Recorder

GEObit introduces GEOsix series high resolution 6+1 analog seismic channels telemetry digitizer/recorder. The size of the instrument is only 168 x 106 x 68mm. The power consumption is only 1.2W for 6 channels. The available sampling rate is 100 to 500sps/6ch, 100 to 1000sps/3ch and optional lower sampling intervals are supported. Built-in GPS receiver combined with ultra-accurate DPLL unit providing time drift 10e-9 sec ensures timing stability even in the absence of GPS signal. NTP timing is also available. The unit is very flexible and accepts several types of analog front end units so any type of seismic sensor can be connected. Additionally, it provides eight extra-low resolution and rate analog inputs for seismometer mass position monitoring, or any other environmental parameter monitoring.

Eight TTL command outputs are supported for seismometer control or for any other external device control. Typically the digitizer supports differential variable gain preamplifier. Our force-balance sensor front end is also supported, providing a wide-band response (10sec – 98Hz) and high sensitivity 1500V/m/s by connecting a C100 sensor. Acquisition parameters and operation modes can be set from the user – friendly web interface.

32bit SeedLink DIGITIZERS/RECORDERS

For Newest and Highest version of Seedlink Digitizer/Recording by GEOBit, you can refer to  GEOSix or GEOThree.

New generation “state of the art” 32-bit ADC seedlink digitizers / recorders, designed on our latest technology. They support three or six analog channels, ultra high resolution, especially in higher sampling rates from 250 to 1000 samples per second (sps). The effective resolution is 23.7 bits at 250 samples per second data rate, therefore they providing dynamic range greater of 138db. The effective resolution is even greater at lower sampling rates, and and it becomes close to 32bits when sampling rate is low like 10sps.(Delta-Sigma technology)
The instruments are based on a latest technology 32bit ARM type processor. The hardware is totally customized and there is no use of any third party hardware boards.

Total power consumption is very low, only 0.6W allowing the instruments to be in operation for long period, powered from a small 7.2Ah Lead-Acid battery. Timing is provided from a very accurate DPLL (digital pll) unit getting synchronized from a GPS receiver. The drift is extremely low (4*10-9sec) when GPS is off, but it periodically switched on (programmable) and synchronizes the DPLL. The digitizer provides also real time data streaming in parallel with local (microSD) data storage, trough the serial port, or Ethernet port. SRi32S unit model supports intergrated SeedLink server.

The seedlink digitizer provides also four extra analog lines, and four digital control lines, which may be used for seismometer control, mass monitoring etc.

The seedlink digitizer / recorder are ideal for micro-cracking monitoring, hydraulic fracturing monitoring, micro-seismic monitoring and other applications that high resolution and high dynamic range is required. Additionally broad-band seismometers like the STS-2 match perfect with the instrument because of high resolution provided.
